Introduction to Frame Painting

Have you always wanted to learn the art of bicycle frame painting?

This is your chance to learn the basics of bicycle frame painting from Metal Guru at Vicious Cycles’ world headquarters in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley.

Classes feature a low student to instructor ratio and flexible course scheduling. The class will consist of lectures, demos and hands on learning.

The basic paint class is structured as a 20-hour course, which has flexible starting dates, based on your availability. This class is limited to two students per session.

The course will focus on single color and panel paint work with vinyl frame decals, although students will also work on sample tubes to try other techniques such as fades, masking and dent filling.

Topics covered will include, safety, paint systems, shop supplies, spray equipment, application techniques, basics of frame graphics, painter’s terms, identifying and solving paint problems.

Your tuition will include the following, personal eye and respiratory protection, use of the Vicious Cycles’ paint facilities, instruction, handout materials, paint materials for one frame and practice materials. It does not include removal of any existing paint on your frame, your lodging, travel expenses, or personal living expenses.

The tuition for the paint class is $950.

A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $500 is required to reserve space. Payment in full is due one week prior to the beginning of the course. Upon receiving your deposit we will contact you to review the specifics of what to bring, course schedule and logistics such as lodging, travel and area attractions.
